Tractor Tool Rack (TTR) can be used as a permanent, semi-permanent or removable attachment for storing and transporting shovels, rakes, garden hoes, hay forks, brooms, axes or string trimmers at the rear of the tractor within arms reach without taking up space in your front end loader bucket. Attempting to balance one or more of these hand tools on the tractor platform, or across your knee while driving, is difficult and a safety issue.
The Tractor Tool Rack attaches to the rigid rear drawbar and vertically fits between the lift arms of a standard category 1, three point hitch system. It is stabilized by anchoring to the tractor’s top link bulkhead. TRACTOR TOOL RACK FEATURES It features (2) vertical storage tubes for containing long handled tools like shovels, rakes, garden hoes, hay forks and brooms. We offer an upgrade for an additional pair (*) of vertical tubes. It also has a horizontal mounting system called “Quick Fist”, which is used for holding either a “D” handled dirt or snow shovel, an axe or string trimmer. TTR doesn’t restrict the use of your 3 point hitch system and with its open center architecture, allows your rear PTO to be used.(**) TTR can be used in conjunction with 3 point hitch mounted rear blades, box scrapers, discs, landscaping rakes, rear finish mowers or brush hogs, rear tillers or rear mounted snow blowers, our BR hitch receiver adapter or a variety of other implements. The vertical tubes are made of UV resistant PVC which won’t nick or scratch your yard tools and swallows them, so the tools will not fall out, even when driving your tractor over rough and rugged terrain. The rubber Quick Fist clamps are UV resistant and also according to the manufacturer, fully functional in Cold and Warm temperatures. Quick Fist clamps are adjustable to grip shapes from 1” to 2 ½” diameters. Tractor Tool Rack part number BR 70232 comes complete with a universal mounting system that fits most compact utility tractors. It, however, will not fit some sub-compact utility tractors having a rear rigid drawbar that is only a hitch tab and specifically those with a narrow lower lift arm spread. We offer (3) tube mounting positions for adoption to tractors with a narrow lift arm spread. The frame work can be field altered for narrowing if necessary. TTR’s universal rigid drawbar system mounting plate was designed to attach to 2” or 2 ½” wide rigid drawbars and extend it rearward approximately 12”. In this position the TTR’s frame which is 18” wide, will fit between the 3-point lift arms while allowing these arms to sway as intended. If the tractor’s rigid drawbar does not extend rearward sufficiently to position the rack at the optimum lift arm spread, two different extension brackets are available. The extension bracket will also allow mount to 3” wide rigid drawbars. The side braces that stabilize the upper portion of the TTR framework have adjustable fastening points which sandwich adjacent to the top link bulk head mounting. Generally, a longer top link pin at that position is required since the braces require an additional ½” of length. Longer top link pins are sold separately. Some simple assembly is required. TRACTOR TOOL RACK - ADDITIONAL MODEL We offer a second model, Tractor Tool Rack part number BR 70242 which attaches to our BR 70212 hitch receiver adapter. This allows the TTR to be used on any model tractor from sub-compacts to large farm tractors while the receiver hitch is being used (i.e. when transporting trailers or when using our new Rear Ballast Weight system). This, however, restricts the use of 3-point implements. Before ordering, we suggest that you measure several points at the rear of the tractor and have that information available to give to our telephone operator when placing an order or requesting additional information. Click on Order information and part numbers for additional data and ordering examples of several tractor brands & models. (*) Due to the lower lift arm configuration of Kubota tractors a narrowed framework is required that only allows the attachment of (2) vertical storage tubes. This still allows its use with rear PTO driven implements. The narrowed frame can be ordered as BR 70232K. The standard BR 70232 can be field altered by using a hacksaw or band saw to shorten (4) side wings that are 1 ½” x 1 ½” x 1/8” thick angle irons. (**) When utilizing the Tractor Tool Rack with rear PTO driven implements, care should be taken to not allow the PTO shaft to come in contact with the TTR mounting framework. This is possible when driving over the crest of hills, ditch banks or landscaping berms where the implement flexes downward and the PTO shaft follows. With PTO driven installations, we suggest that the mounting be done with the rigid drawbar being stubbed short and that an extension bracket be used for proper rearward placement and be attached beneath the rigid drawbar. The will allow the PTO shaft further clearance of slightly less than the rigid drawbar thickness. ORDER NOW » |
